Zagreb Croatia, b. 1975
(Split, Croatia, 1975) is a Croatia-based abstract artist whose practice explores the field of geometric abstraction through traditional media and techniques. His work moves away from illusion and perspective, focusing instead on the immediacy of thought, proportion, and rhythm. Working predominantly with monochromatic palettes, Bezinović develops compositions defined by geometric structures, subtle tonal shifts, and layered textures. His paintings hold a dynamic tension between order and disruption, investigating the visual language that feels at once ancient and contemporary.
Aleksandar’s working process deliberately relies on brute simplicity and emphasizes physical execution. Each series begins with defined measures, rules, and the circle drawing as a foundational unit. Order and a self- imposed set of constraints within the format lead the artist from the known to the unknown.Through variations on the same theme, forms transform into abstract stylistic figures characterized by clarity, absence of illusion, a reduced palette, and rhythm.
His exhibitions frequently explore the duality of the repetitive transience of the material world and an inner logos revealed through geometry.
