Biography
Rose Madone (b. 1993, France) is a contemporary artist whose multidisciplinary practice encompasses painting, ceramics, photography, and video. For Madone, artistic creation is a means of channelling and transforming emotion, allowing her to examine inner experience through a process of reflection, experimentation, and visual expression.
Born in northern France, she left her hometown of Lille at an early age to explore new cultural contexts, first in Brussels and later in Barcelona, where she settled in 2017. It was within the vibrant and cosmopolitan environment of the Catalan capital that her conceptual and visual language began to take shape.
Emotion, introspection, and dialogue lie at the core of her practice. Working through an intuitive and instinctive approach, Madone draws inspiration from everyday life, natural cycles, and the continuous process of personal transformation. Each painting becomes an attempt to understand, process, and ultimately transcend an emotional state.
Her compositions are characterised by flowing gestures, textured surfaces, sandy materials, transparency, and subtle chromatic contrasts. Moving through a restrained palette of beiges, browns, and blacks, she explores the tension between organic forms and minimalist structures, seeking a delicate equilibrium between movement and stillness, materiality and lightness.
