Paint it Black

Paint it Black
December 16, 2023 – February 14, 2024

Under the pretext of the absence of chromatic explosions, the collective “Paint it Black” is born. Three artists who have reached certain conclusions with their work, and where color does not shine by its absence, but simply do not need it to express themselves through painting.
Moritz Berg, Tabitha Millett, and Alicia Gimeno, European talent and proof that the global communication of the world we live in is (sometimes) positive, achieving, in this case, the fusion of three artistic expressions that complement and feed off each other in a natural and exquisite way.
Form is the protagonist, in three different ways. Berg’s artistic process involves a meticulous study of perception, seeking to captivate the viewer, evoking emotional responses and contemplation. His works encourage us to pause, to appreciate the beauty of the ordinary, and to discover deep meaning in seemingly mundane aspects of life. Tabitha Millett explores material moments of agency, simplicity, movement, and texture. Her work seeks depth and intensity by doing less. And on her part, Gimeno invites us to pause in front of the slow musicality of a connection with roots, with nature, through the gesturality of the form described as abstract calligraphy.
In common with the works in the exhibition, we see that through abstraction, with more or less tendency towards minimalism, they promote introspection and contemplation that connects us with the natural environment. “Capturing the material moment,” as Millett says. Through the importance given to materials, movement, or harmonious composition, the fragile balance between nature and humanity is studied, and they accompany the viewer in finding depth in a painting that reminds you of the spiritual relationship you have with the earth, with the most primal and natural aspects.
