    Carolin Kreutzer
    Biography

Carolin Kreutzer is a German abstract artist whose work explores relationships, perception, and the delicate balance between individuality and connection. Through a refined visual language of geometric forms, colour fields, and carefully considered compositions, she creates paintings that reflect on shared values, personal freedom, and the dynamics that exist between people and their environments.

Raised alongside three sisters in a creative household, Kreutzer developed an early sensitivity to visual expression. Her artistic path was shaped by both her mother’s creative influence and her father’s passion for photography, fostering an appreciation for composition, observation, and visual storytelling from a young age.

After studying graphic design in Germany and the United Kingdom, Kreutzer worked for more than fifteen years as an art director, developing visual identities for luxury furniture and lifestyle brands. This background continues to inform her artistic practice, contributing to the clarity, balance, and precision that characterise her paintings.

Working with reduced forms and carefully calibrated colour relationships, Kreutzer distils each composition to its essential elements. Hard edges and defined shapes create structure, while subtle interactions between colours introduce rhythm, movement, and a sense of play. Her works invite viewers to consider how forms coexist and respond to one another, reflecting broader ideas about human relationships and perception.

As the artist notes, “Like every person, every shape has a different relationship to its fellows, just as every colour responds to its surroundings.” This philosophy lies at the heart of her practice, where abstract forms become metaphors for connection, individuality, and coexistence.

Born in Hamburg, Kreutzer now lives and works near Stuttgart, Germany, where she maintains her studio and continues to develop a distinctive body of work that bridges the worlds of design and contemporary abstraction.
