Biography
Maria Naidyonova is a Ukrainian-born, Berlin-based contemporary artist whose figurative practice explores the complexity of human relationships, intimacy, memory and emotional connection. Working across drawing, painting and animation, she combines the precision of classical draftsmanship with a contemporary visual language that balances psychological depth with subtle narrative.
Her practice unfolds through thematic series, ranging from intimate works on paper to large-scale mixed-media paintings. Combining charcoal, pastel, acrylic, oil, spray paint and collage, Naidyonova creates layered compositions in which gesture, texture and colour become vehicles for exploring vulnerability, affection and the quiet tensions of everyday life.
Naidyonova holds a Bachelor’s degree in Book Graphics from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, a Specialist Degree in Painting from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kyiv, and a Master’s degree in Fine Art and Painting from the Weissensee Academy of Art Berlin.
Her work has been presented in exhibitions, art fairs and film festivals across Europe and the United States, and has been featured in publications including Vogue Portugal, Curatory Magazine and other international media.
